Chanda Bupe Lupambo (19) is of mixed Zambian/South African descent and started piano at the age or 12. He is currently studying with prof Nina Schumann. Chanda has competed and been a finalist in several national competitions. In addition, he recently was awarded overall winner of the 2024 Atterbury national piano competition and the bronze medal in the Hennie Joubert national piano competition. He has performed as a soloist with the Rand Symphony Orchestra and Capetown Philharmonic Orchestra as well as an orchestral pianist in the Stellenbosch International Chamber Music Festival. He has received masterclasses from esteemed pianists such as Albert Mamriev, Anastasia Markina, Jan Jiracek von Armin and Henri Sigfridsson
